Toyota has officially launched its return to the World Rally Championship, showing off the Yaris WRC and new Microsoft livery at the Paris motor show.Microsoft will serves as a technology partner for the team, which is competing as the Toyota Gazoo Racing WRC.The manufacturer's president and CEO, Akio Toyoda, drew back the covers on the 2017 challenger and was joined on stage by rally team principal Tommi Makinen, who won four WRC titles driving with Mitsubishi.

Toyota Motor Corp. has reached a technology partnership agreement with Microsoft Corp. for the 2017 World Rally Championship series, its president said Thursday.Under the accord, Microsoft will assist the Toyota Gazoo racing team in developing a data analysis platform, creating a team information-sharing system and enhancing interaction with fans."I believe that, like Toyota, Microsoft aims to enrich society in meaningful ways," Toyota President Akio Toyoda told reporters at the Paris Motor Show.
