"bizjournals" declare : Toyota puts its 2M SF headquarters campus on the market

To date, Toyota has spent more than $5 billion in the California campus, which housed the automaker for five decades. The Japanese automaker recently hired JLL to market the California campus. Toyota Motor North America Inc. has put its Los Angeles-area headquarters campus — which spans 2 million square feet on 110 acres in Torrance and Los Angeles — on the market, as part of its relocation to Plano. The relocation is expected to happen this year, with Toyota executives saying the campus is on schedule for a mid-year delivery. JLL also had a hand in negotiating Toyota's 100-acre campus in Plano, which totals more than 2 million square feet on the multi-building campus.

according to About two-thirds to 75% of Toyota's workers in Torrance are expected to make the move to Texas, Toyota Motor North America President James Lentz has said. One just hit the market in Torrance: the longtime North American headquarters of Japanese car manufacturer Toyota, which is consolidating its U.S. operations in Texas. "It's a ready-to-go corporate campus," said property broker Jeff Adkison of JLL, who represents Toyota. Toyota announced its plans to leave Torrance for Plano, a suburb of Dallas, in 2014. The pending loss of Toyota's mostly white-collar jobs came as a blow to Torrance three years ago, Mayor Patrick Furey said.
