Much of Toyota's donation will go to a permanent exhibit gallery inside the civil rights museum. So far, the Foundation for Mississippi History has raised more than $17 million.

MDAH is constructing the Mississippi Civil Rights Museum and the Museum of Mississippi History in Jackson. "The Civil Rights Museum will be the first state-constructed and state-operated civil rights museum in the nation," said Haley Fisackerly, the President and CEO of Entergy Mississippi. Toyota is celebrating its 10th anniversary in Mississippi commemorating the state's culture by giving 750-thousand dollars to the Mississippi Department of Archives and History. "I am humbled to work for a company that champions diversity and inclusion," said Sean Suggs, VP of Manufacturing at Toyota Mississippi. MDAH says the civil rights museum will tell the story of the struggle for equal rights between 1945 and 1976.
