2017 Toyota 86 gets a Special Edition model

In the meantime, the Japanese carmaker has introduced the Toyota 86 Special Edition. Toyota wants the return of the 'Three Brothers' ASAP, so despite declining sales we fully expect a new generation of the Toyota 86 to arrive around the same time as the reborn Supra and spiritual successor to the MR2 . Limited to 860 units finished in Halo White and another 860 coated in Supernova Orange (pictured), the new trim gets a pair of black racing stripes down the middle, black side mirrors, a black rear spoiler and 17-inch rims finished in black chrome.

What we have instead is the Toyota 86 860 Special Edition, which is a limited-run package that focuses on some style upgrades and interior amenities. It's called Supernova Orange and it's an exclusive color for the 860 Special Edition. You can also get the car in Halo White, and Toyota plans to build just 860 units of each color. There's also a placard in the center console that reminds you that you're in a limited-edition version of the 86. Glancing at the exterior skin, you'll find some bright paintwork.
