Many decades later, I'm behind the wheel of the 2017 Toyota Tacoma TRD Pro, which I best describe as a modern-day, full-size, reincarnation of my favorite childhood toy. The TRD Pro is based on the Tacoma TRD Off-Road 4x4 Double Cab short-bed model. At the top of Tacoma's model range is the TRD Pro 4x4, boasting rugged off-road equipment for those venturing far off paved surfaces. The Tacoma TRD Pro is a truck — it won't let you forget it. There are "TRD Pro" logos everywhere — you'll find them on the head restraints, shift knob, and floor mats.
