BMW, Toyota invest in self-driving shuttle startup

according to Toyota AI Ventures said on Monday it is co-leading an $eleven.five-mn seed investment in probably Mobility, an Ann Arbor-based startup that is emerging self-driving shuttles for college campuses, central business territories & similar low-speed applications. Based in Los Altos in the heart of California's Silicon Valley, Toyota AI Ventures, the automaker's corporate venture arm, is less than a year old. "portion of our mission is to understand where innovation is happening, tap into disruption in the market & acquire firsthand knowledge of those disruptive signals," said Jim Adler, managing director of Toyota AI Ventures. Toyota AI Ventures has invested in 2 robotics startups, as well as a Inc. that specializes in mapping for self-driving vehicles & drones, another that Utilizes AI to testlarge information, & 1 that is emerging electric air taxis.
