How A Flooded Toyota 86 Got A Second Life As A Race Car For Charity
There are still folks along the Gulf Coast who are still struggling to rebuild after Hurricane Harvey tied Hurricane Katrina for the most destructive storm in US history in 2017. So, Robb Holland had an idea: To transform a Toyota 86 flooded during Hurricane Harvey into a race car in order to raise awareness and drive funds to the State Firefighters and Fire Marshals' Association of Texas. Fortunately, Robb was able to find a worthy cause to drive donations to over the weekend: the State Firefighters and Fire Marshals' Association of Texas. The 86 was a blast to drive and finished Saturday's race with a respectable fifth place finish in its class. [Full disclosure: Salvage car sales company IAA was the primary sponsor of this car.]
Why The 209 HP Toyota Yaris GRMN Actually Feels Like The Fastest Car Ever
As it stated in The 2018 Toyota Yaris GRMN is a tightly-wound compact car with a manual transmission and a supercharger. (Full Disclosure: I asked the team at Toyota GB if I could borrow a Yaris GRMN and they said yes. And the 2018 Yaris GRMN will be limited to 400 units in Europe, with 80 of those hitting the U.K., making it something of a collector's piece. You do get exclusivity, and the fact it's the first in a line of super special GRMN cars serves to boost its appeal.
